I Gave, I’m Gone

~~~~~~~~~~~
I’ve come so far towards the grave
Recalling not how I once gave
So closer now to my grave
Gravity pulls at me
I gave
I gave
I gave
I’m gone
Sixty summers and some
Riding and walking
All under the sun
Lost in a breeze or two
Break twigs with my worn out shoes
Nothing to do
No one to greet
Wide avenue
Unpaved empty street
Shuffle and glide along
Graceful as if I belonged
I’ve come so far towards the grave
Recalling not how I once gave
So closer now to my grave
Gravity pulls at me
I gave
I gave
I gave
I’m gone
All in between and all out of sorts
Those pastures of green
Scenes after scene
Framed from beyond
The dream could hold on
To nothing and more
All outside out the door
Living inside
Empty
So empty
So nothing
So sorry
So forgetful
Forget not
Forsworn to forever
With nowhere to go
I’ve come so far towards the grave
Recalling not how I once gave
So closer now to my grave
Gravity pulls at me
I gave
I gave
I gave
I’m gone
      Much appreciated Erich! I was reviewing my photo with all the lava rock at the water and wrote those words so they definitely “go together”. Aloha.
